We’ve been waiting a long time for things to open back up enough to do in-person events at the Byward Wine Market, but that time has finally come! And what better way to kick things off than with a visit from one of our favourite wineries, Rosewood from Niagara! We had Will Roman, General Manager and Head Bee Keeper on a Zoom tasting earlier this year, but if you’re unfamiliar, check out this earlier post all about Rosewood.

So here’s the scoop: Next Thursday May 12, Will Roman, along with pal and Head Winemaker Ryan Corrigan will be in Ottawa for a day of Rosewood fun. We’ll be doing an afternoon trade tasting for restaurant industry folks followed by two consumer events at the Byward Wine Market in the evening. Unfortunately the afternoon event is only open to restaurant folks, but the evening is going to be our first party at the shop open to the public…so clear your Thursday schedules! Here’s the details:

Restaurant Industry Tasting:
Where: Cantina Gia, 749 Bank Street, Ottawa (in the Glebe)
When: Thursday May 12, 2:00-4:00pm
What: Trade tasting for restaurant folks. Drop by at your convenience. We’ll have all the current wines (as well as a few barrel samples). Email me for more details!

Seated Tasting at Byward Wine Market:
Where: Byward Wine Market, 60 George Street, Ottawa (inside Lollo restaurant)
When: Thursday May 12, 6:00-7:00pm
What: Guided tasting of 7 Rosewood wines by Ryan and Will + Q&A and general fun. Ticketed event open to the public, first come first served!
Tickets: $50 each online through Byward Wine Market. This is a very limited seating even of 20 people (all the seats we have in Lollo) and they can be purchased online, first come first served, and it’s already half sold out! Quickly Follow this link if you want to come! If the website says it’s sold out, it’s unfortunately sold out. Sorry for the late notice on this, the event came together quickly and the sale went up on instagram last night.

Rosewood Pop-up Winebar:
If you didn’t get into the seated tasting we will be open from 7:30-9:30 (maybe later?) pouring Rosewood wines by the glass. So you can still come hang, try the wines, chat with Ryan and Will, buy some bottles to bring home…have a generally awesome Thursday night. No need for tickets or reservations, just come by after 7:30!
